Asmt 16: Explain how Testbed features work

Carefully study the PHP code of the Testbed and trace the path of execution for each of the user options asked about below. For each, write a short description (1 to 3 paragraphs) that clearly explains in English what the Testbed does and how it does it. Do not just name lines of code — explain what the code path as a whole does to accomplish providing the feature.

It is suggested that you start working on this assignment as soon as possible. Do not underestimate how long it will take you to study and understand the Testbed’s PHP code.

(1) How does the Testbed handle the user login, including trapping things that can go wrong given incorrect user entry or other errors? How/where does it go to validate the username and password?

(2) How does the Testbed create the “Tables” pulldown selection list? Where/how does it get the list of table names to present?

(3) Explain what the “Describe Table” button does and how it does it.

(4) Explain what the “Select All” and “Count” button do and how the Testbed does their actions.

(5) Explain what the “Select” button does and how it does it. Show an example of its result.

(6) Explain what the “Insert” button does and how it does it. Show an example of its result.

(7) Explain what the “Update” button does and how it does it. Show an example of its result.

(8) Explain how the “Where”, “Order by”, and “Limit” fields work and affect the result.

(9) Explain how the “Execute this query” feature works.

(10) Explain what the “Must be checked to accept…” does and how it does it.
